2014 SAG Awards: Best Red Carpet Trends
Many lovely women walked the red carpet at the Screen Actors Guild Awards' show Saturday night. All the favorites made it to the festivities including television and movie stars. Just as with the Golden Globes, we were captivated by the fashion of the night. From ladies dressed in blue to starlets looking pretty in pink, we’ve chosen the best looks from last night’s red carpet.
This ladylike shade was a popular choice among the stars last night. Best dressed of the night Cate Blanchett was first to arrive in the gorgeous color wearing Givenchy, and she set the bar high. Television stars also looked beautiful in the color as well. Modern Family star Sarah Hyland wore a Pamella Roland design and Emilia Clarke chose a sequined Calvin Klein dress.
Usually a red carpet trend, this was evident again at last night’s red carpet. Our favorite leading lady Jennifer Lawrence wore a colorful sequined Dior dress. Homeland star Claire Danes looked radiant in a flowy Vionnet gown complete with blue and silver sequins. Another television actress was spotted in this trend, Sofia Vergara, wearing a dazzling Donna Karan.
Many lovely ladies opted for more feminine and soft pieces. American Hustle star Elisabeth Rohm was dressed in a beige Marchesa gown featuring ladylike floral lace patterns. Hannah Simone from FOX’s New Girl wore this trend as well, dressed in a Marchesa, Grecian gown with floral neckline. Isla Fisher was a Glam Goddess in a champagne gown by Oscar de la Renta.
The SAG awards was the place to have fun with color and we saw many starlets wearing bright and fun hues. Red carpet darling and newcomer Lupita Nyong’o wore a bright teal gown by Gucci, featuring a floral collar. Julia Roberts also wore something with a little color, wearing a red Valentino jumpsuit. Nominated for Best Actress, Sandra Bullock joined in on the vibrant hue fun wearing an emerald Lanvin gown.
Blue was the “it-color” of the night with many actresses choosing different shades of the gown. Homeland beauty Morena Baccarin’s figure looked flawless in a bright blue Monique Lhuillier gown. Anna Gunn, star of Breaking Bad, went out with a bang wearing a stunning sequinned Monique Lhuillier navy blue gown, perhaps playing tribute to her show. Amy Adams looked all the part of a leading lady in a cutout blue gown by Antonio Berardi.
Television star Katrina Bowden looked fabulous in black wearing a Badgley Mischka gold embroidered gown. Jennifer Garner wore a figure flattering gown by Salvatore Ferragamo and Downton Abbey beauty Michelle Dockery wore a tuxedo-inspired gown by J. Mendel.
