Designer Lauren Elaine tells LadyLUX about her exclusive sea soiree.

Lauren Elaine, a former model turned fashion designer, will bring her new Black Label “Siren” Collection to the high seas this summer. This June and September, guests of Crystal Cruises will have the chance to embark on a first-hand fashion experience. Considered one of the finest ships in the world, “Serenity” will not only provide a couture cruise, but the Mediterranean will serve as the perfect backdrop for Lauren Elaine’s designs.

Lauren Elaine knew right off the bat, that her Siren collection would be the perfect fit. Inspired by sea sirens of Greek mythology and sirens of the silver screen, her collection seemed serendipitously perfect to present on a voyage in exotic seas. Lauren Elaine told LadyLUX, “The silhouettes reflect both Grecian draping and vintage-inspired full skirted shapes reminiscent of Grace Kelly in ‘To Catch a Thief’ or Audrey Hepburn in ‘Roman Holiday’.” She also pointed out a fashionable coincidence, “It’s very ironic how it worked out that the beginning of the cruise starts in Monte Carlo and then travels to Southern Italy and Rome… directly linking to the old Euro-Hollywood inspirations in the collection.”

The Crystal Cruise is not your typical ocean tour. The two exclusive fashion-themed cruises, “Culture & Couture” and “Fashion Capitals”, will be a soiree at sea with the itinerary directly correlated with all the events on the ship. For example, cruisers get to visually connect with artist inspiration by watching screenings of films, such as the ones above, chosen by Lauren as a preview to her collection. Before each film, she’ll address the crowd about how each motion picture has manifested in her designs. I think it’s wonderful how we are able to combine so many aspects of fashion and style into a 12-day cruise, and in such a magical setting,” Lauren Elaine said.

The event also offers guests a sneak peek at upcoming collections. Lauren told us, “Guests will be able to visit with me… and order any piece from the collection and have it fitted to them perfectly.”

What does Lauren Elaine look forward to on her couture cruise?

“I am most excited about visiting the Mediterranean and seeing the places that inspire me… in person. I’m also looking forward to sharing my collection and the inspiration behind it with everyone. I’m really looking forward to being able to share it with everyone in a very relatable way.”

The Fashion & Style experiences by Crystal, which is rated the finest cruise ship in the world by Condé Nast Traveler, will depart later this summer. “Culture & Couture” will leave port on June 6 from Barcelona to Athens and “Fashion Capitals” will set sail on September 29 from Venice to Monte Carlo.
