Now that New York, London, Milan and Paris Fall/Winter 2014 fashion weeks are complete, we took a closer look at the details and styling of runway looks and compiled our top fouraccessories trends: Fur collars, metallic handbags, jumbo link necklaces, and color-tinted sunglasses. Each trend is unique, makes a statement, and is sure to add oomph to any wardrobe.
With an overwhelming occurrence of fur coats and shrugs as well as fur-trimmed garments in Fall/Winter 2014 collections, it is only natural that fur collars would also make a popular statement on the runway. Fur collars not only serve the purpose of being neck warmers but exude a sense of luxury and refinement. Badgley Mischka's neck warmers are fitting for a chilly stroll through Central Park; finish accessorizing with a colorful coat, gloves to match the fur collar, and knee-high boots or heeled booties to complete your city-chic look.
Metallic accessories, although shiny and flashy, offer an easy pop of perfectly balanced edginess and opulence to any neutral-toned outfit. Daks' Fall/Winter 2014 collection presented in London showcased gold metallic elements in trench coats, trims, footwear, and clutches against a backdrop of plaid, and a more earthy but rich color palette. Wear the metallic trend with a handbag or clutch of classic gold or silver, or have fun with other metallic colors like rose gold, pink, and blue.
Play with color in your wardrobe by wearing color-tinted sunglasses. This isn't your standard black, brown, or tortoise shell frames with color tint lenses, but an all-over color tinted pair of sunglasses such as those seen on Gucci's runway during Milan Fashion Week. Style retro sunglass shapes such as cat-eye, wayfarer, or aviators.
Nothing says statement like an enlarged accessory such as jumbo link necklaces, which made for bold and eye-catching styling on the Paris runway of Chanel's Fall/Winter 2014 collection. The show was already making headlines with its own Chanel supermarket runway- and grocery-inspired designs. The jumbo link necklaces complemented the fashionably-zealous concept. Shop the trend with Bauble Bar's wide array of simple to layered jumbo link necklaces to mesh with anyone's style.
