We’ve seen this print popping up in the fashion world before, but Copenhagen brought it front and center. We first caught a glimpse of the pattern in Margrethe-skolen’s show and saw it again featured in several ways ranging from sophisticated to playful. Typically seen in classic black and white print, designers pushed the boundaries and debuted the print by adding color.
Showcased at several shows, this trend was most notable on the Anne Sofie Madsen and Designskolen Kolding runways. Other designers featured the futuristic trend in metallics and holograms with cut-outs and boxy silhouettes.
Not new to the fashion world, Copenhagen put a new spin on edgy. With black and leather both being popular trends, designers were able to bring them to life on the runway. Barbara Gongini pushed the envelope with her edgy designs while MI-NO-RO’s show featured a classy interpretation of the edgy theme.
Of all the noteworthy trends from Copenhagen, minimalist took the spotlight. Seen in neutral shades, white, navy, beige and black were most popular. All white ensembles were common among designers Veronica B Vallenes and Baum und Pferdgarten.
Solid and printed wide leg pants painted the runways throughout the week. Wood Wood, Designers Remix and Bruuns Bazaar favored solid colors while other opted for patterned designs ranging from the colorful to classy black and white prints.
Suits were widely seen on the runways, especially patterned suits with matching top, bottom and jacket. Marimekko’s took a more casual approach while other designers like Baum and Pferdgarten and Margrethe-skolen went all out matching the entire ensemble.
