LadyLUX: What inspired you to start a fashion blog?

Mary Summers: I was constantly looking at them. If I had any free time that was what I would do. I started to turn to blogs for inspiration instead of magazines. I grew up loving fashion and majored in journalism so it felt like the next step. My goal is to show obtainable fashion, where my readers can go in their closet and find a duplicate outfit. This has always been what inspires me and sometimes I think it is hard to find. This obtainability is what lit the fire in me to start M.A.S. Fashion.

LL: How would you describe your personal style?

MS: Evolving and trendy with a classic twist. I seem to find what is trendy at the moment but then add a subtle hint of Mary in it. For example, I will get a great pair of leather pants and neon bag but then throw on a t-shirt. I LIVE for a comfy t-shirt. I don't think you should throw away who you are to be on trend, I think you can layer it all together. The older I get the more I realize our personal style is always evolving but we carry a little bit from each period with us.

LL: Where is your favorite place to shop?

MS: I always find great items at Zara but I HAVE to try on their clothes so I find myself routinely going to Shopbop. Quick and easy.

LL: Share something your readers might not know about you?

MS: I grew up playing golf and won four Sate Championships. Not the most fashionable sport, I know, but a great experience none the less.

LL: What is your favorite part about creating content for M.A.S. Fashion?

MS: When I do my outfit post I love “shopping my closet.” If I know I want to wear a skirt or blouse I will grab it and then start building my outfit around that one piece. It is amazing what you can find in your closet if you just look. When I do product mention or collages, I love finding items that inspire me and that I personally want. I genuinely take time to figure out what I love and what I think my readers will find interesting. To me a blogger is suppose to find what is trending and then tell the masses how they can buy it, wear it, and style it. We are the middle man.
