California beauty buffs, rejoice! Make-up brand, NARS, has just opened its first West Coast boutique on the famed Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles. Nestled in between Marc by Marc Jacobs and Joie, the new boutique is the company’s second flagship store and is three times the size of the New York location on Bleecker Street.

To help celebrate, the company threw a grand opening party for make-up enthusiasts to take a first look at the space and meet Francoise Nars himself. Later that night, the company threw a VIP, kick-off party at the new boutique with guests including clients, friends and stars such as supermodel, Alessandra Ambrosio, stylist, Rachel Zoe, and design duo, Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte.

The new store is sleek and chic with minimalistic design and brings to mind a Parisian apartment fused with modern design. The joint vision of Francoise Nars and Fabien Baron of New York design firm Baron and Baron, the entire store calls to mind the brand’s signature packaging in stark white with black accents. The only color featured in the store, aside from the make-up and products on display, is the cash wrap; it's a red, high gloss lacquer that matches the brand’s lipstick shade, Jungle Red . Also within the 1,500 square-foot space is a 200-square-foot private room for special events, workshops and VIP guests that includes a seating area with furniture custom designed by Fabien Baron and an imported fireplace with Louie XIV style moldings.

A store created for artists by artists, the store’s playlist was specifically mixed by DJs Les Jumeaux and the floor- to- ceiling mirrors feature hidden illuminating frames and screens that rotate short films created by NARS. Even when the store closes for the day, NARS continues its artistry. A window display featuring NARS stylized films project onto the street in the evening.

By joining the Melrose Avenue hub of fashion and beauty in Los Angeles, this new store is sure to be a beauty staple.
