American Idol Judge Simon Cowell Will Make Season 9 His Last
Tonight will kick off the 2-day premiere of one of America’s favorite singing competitions, American Idol.
Marking the 9th season, it begs for all of the American Idol faithfuls to prepare for more talent to emerge. It also marks the end of one of the most notorious personalities on the show, Simon Cowell. Yes LUXies, it seems the outrageous and outspoken Brit has just announced this season will be his last.
“I was offered a lot of money to stay on,” Cowell said. “But that wasn’t the reason behind it. I wanted to do something different. I wanted a new challenge.”
This news on top of Paula Abdul’s replacement, Ellen DeGeneres, leaves viewers with many questions. Where will the show be without Cowell’s presence is yet to be seen, though it just makes us want to watch this season with even more anticipation and wonder!
However, for all you Simon Cowell fans this won’t end his television presence. Instead, he’ll simply be trading American Idol in, while he births another one of his creations, the X-Factor for the American audience. That’s right, it seems FOX has picked up this new series and Cowell will be the front man!
Details on the future of American Idol are iffy, but what we do know is that a new season begins tonight at 8/7c on FOX kicking off with a 2-night premiere that you mustn’t miss!
