Newly launched Mode-Moderne Journal celebrates music in second issue
Bringing together an international collective of writers sharing a global take on art, fashion, philosophy and life, Mode-Moderne Journal is a new unique publication to hit the online world. Founded by Roxana Vosough, the idea for Mode-Moderne Journal began as a simple blog but quickly expanded into a more dominant platform that features sections including: The Modern Day Man, The Modern Day Woman, Fashion, Art, Music, Life and Philosophy. The monthly publication’s strive for simplicity amidst sophistication sets them apart and is clearly demonstrated within each article and throughout the minimalist design.
“It's different from other publications as it is available exclusively online. It's hip, while being intellectual and the layout is simple but contemporary. Furthermore, Mode-Moderne Journal soirees, our invite-only events that are focused around art and performance, bring the publication to life, in a more personal and interactive manner,” Vosough explained.
The passionate writers from Amsterdam to Los Angeles, led by Editor in Chief, Kelly Shannon, seek to make their mark through the depiction of their interests in the written word.

“We had a great response from writers seeking to contribute to a publication which integrated modern intellectualism with a hip and contemporary edge,” Vosough said.
Currently in its second issue, this month’s edition spotlights on music. The features boast Shannon’s intimate exclusive interview with Patrick Carney, the drummer of The Black Keys, and Vosough’s one-on-one with inspiring IAMSOUND record producer and founder, Niki Robertson.
The upcoming Issue III will focus on travel, which will be release the premier week of June.
On top of Mode-Moderne Journal’s engaging articles, the publication also features artwork from a different artist every month. Proceeds from each sold piece is donated to C.A.R.E., a non-profit organization focused on bringing art to underprivileged youth. The artwork is on exhibit at Mesa, a local restaurant and bar in Orange County, Calif., as well as on the site.
“Art was a key part of my education, which truly set out the foundations for my passions at a young age. To give this opportunity to those who do not readily have access to it is truly a privilege and necessity. It is key for us to fuel the artistic aspirations of the future while pursuing and celebrating artistic achievements in the present,” Vosough shared.

As the online publication grows, Mode-Moderne Journal plans to maintain their distinctive content, grow to a greater international context and eventually expand the events to a global scale.
“I have always enjoyed flipping through and reading publications, not only for the content but the format. Mode-Moderne Journal is an avenue to everything I have always wanted to do creatively and professionally,” said Vosough.
